When can I register my child?
For our three-year-old classes, your child must turn three by December 31.
For our four-year-old classes, your child must turn four by December 31.
For our two-year-old classes (Time for Twos), your child must be two by the class start date.

Rompers Preschool public registration for the school year usually starts in early April each year for the following school year. Registration must be done in person and is completed on a first come, first served basis.

Please plan on attending our open house if you plan on registering your child for our programs.

How can I be added to a wait list?
Wait lists are started once the current class is full. We do not keep on-going wait lists for multiple years. If the class you desire is full, please contact the Preschool Coordinator to be added to a wait list.

What are your fees?
There will be a non-refundable $40.00 registration fee at the time of registration. For a full list of fees, please refer to fee schedules on the  Rompers Preschool or Time for Twos pages.

When are the fees due?
For Rompers Preschool, a form of post-dated payment is due at the time of registration. Fees are processed one month prior to attendance. Payments will be deducted on the first of each month from August to May for attendance from September to June.

For Time for Twos, full payment is due at the time of registration.

Do I still have to pay if my child is absent?
Yes. Fees are collected on a monthly basis and reserve your spot for the month. If your child is sick, or you go on a family vacation, we cannot fill your spot for that short time. Therefore, you are responsible for payments while your child is absent.

How do I apply for subsidy?
Families who are eligible for child care subsidy through the Ministry of Children and Family Development are responsible for applying for the subsidy. Please contact the Preschool Coordinator to complete the Child Care Arrangement section of your subsidy application.

Does my child need to be toilet trained?
Children should be able to tell the educators that they need to go to the bathroom and do the majority of the bathroom routine on their own. (Pulling down pants, sitting on the toilet, wiping.) Our staff can assist children while they learn to master these skills.

What if my child has special needs or requires extra support?
We offer inclusive programs for children of all capabilities. Please set up a meeting with the Preschool Coordinator to discuss the needs of your child. If your child requires a support worker, a referral to Richmond Supported Child Development Program can be made.

What do I do if my child has allergies?
Please inform the Preschool Coordinator at the time of registration. Additional forms for life-threatening allergies or care plans must be completed prior to attending the program. Our classrooms are all nut-free zones.

What is the staff to child ratio?
Under the Child Care Licensing Regulations, the ratio is one educator per 10 children. Some of our classrooms allow for a smaller ratio due to the size of the room.

Do you close for winter, spring, and summer break?
Rompers Preschool is closed for all statutory holidays, and follow the Richmond School District for summer, spring, and winter breaks. During Spring and Summer closures, we offer preschool camps.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Preschool Coordinator.
