Time for Twos

Time for Twos is a seasonal, play-based program designed to foster the development of young children across all areas of growth (social, emotional, cognitive, creative, and physical). We believe that children learn best through social interaction and hands-on, multisensory experiences, including exploration of various materials.

Our environment is safe, nurturing, and predictable—providing the ideal setting for children to explore the world around them.

Recognizing that each child learns in their own unique way, we tailor our approach to meet individual needs while also fostering cooperation and active participation in all program offerings of the program.

Daily Routine

Our routine offers a balance of structure and flexibility, helping children feel secure while allowing room for creativity and exploration.

A day in Time for Twos typically includes:

Free Play (including art, sensory and/or science activities – All offering opportunities for imaginative play, creative expression and critical thinking)
Optional/Open Snack – A relaxed, social snack time at each child’s own pace
Group Clean-Up – Learning responsibility and teamwork
Group Time – Interacting learning through stories, songs, and/or music & movement
Gross Motor Time – Indoor active play to support physical development
Goodbye Song – A comforting and consistent way to end the day

Tips for Preparing Your Child for Time for Twos

Tell your child what will happen at Time for Twos
Read stories to your child about going to a group time like Time for Twos.
Establish "getting ready" routines, such as letting your child help you pack bag or pick out clothing to wear.
Give the teacher information to help make your child feel comfortable.

Registration opens on Tuesday November 18th at 9:00PM

You’ll be redirected to the City of Richmond registration page, where you can complete your child’s registration and payment.

Create a MyRichmond family account before registration day.

Be sure to add your child's information to your family account, including date of birth.

Registration requirements:

Prior to attending, Parents/legal guardians must complete the Informed Consent and Permission Form
Please email completed form and a recent photograph of your child to Anna, Preschool Coordinator at athymis@richmond.ca MINIMUM ONE WEEK prior to the start of your child’s FIRST day of the program, in order to allow our team time review your submitted information.
Upon receipt of your email with the above-mentioned documents, you will receive an email confirmation with further detailed information about the program.
