LICENSED PRESCHOOL CAMPS (March 2025)
Explore, discover, and create in a play-based environment where children’s imagination and interests guide their learning experiences! Play games, take part in age- and developmentally-appropriate activities provided by Early Childhood Educators. Explore and learn with creative and cooperative play opportunities both the indoor and outdoor classrooms.
This camp is operated by Rompers Preschool, a licensed preschool that operates in accordance with the Child Care Licensing Regulations under the Community Care and Assisted Living Act of BC. The program serves children between 3 and 5 years of age and enrolls up to a maximum of 20 children per classroom, with a minimum two early childhood educators in each class.
The program is play-based, child-centred and emergent-curriculum influenced. The Early Childhood Educators are responsive to children’s interests and co-create curriculum with the children. Topics of interests are explored in groups to foster an inviting, engaging, and collaborative social setting, and to create meaningful developmentally appropriate learning experiences. The depth and length of learning are determined by the children’s sustained interests. Focus is placed on the process of experiences and on fostering healthy social-emotional development. Components of this program include free play time, open ended art, group time, music and movement, sensory activities, STEM, nutritional break, and a large emphasis on outdoor learning.
Rompers Preschool promotes inclusion. It is our goal to serve the diverse needs of any child in our community. Children of all abilities may be enrolled provided the centre can meet the needs of the child and their family as well as the safety of all other children enrolled in our program.

TIME FOR TWOS - SEASONAL PROGRAM (January-March 2025)
This is a play-based program for two-year-olds that prepares children for preschool, and strives to foster children’s skill level in all areas of development including, social, emotional, cognitive, creative, and physical development.
Build on fine motor, social and emotional skills in this play-based and social program designed and led by qualified Early Childhood Educators. Children must be two years old by the start of the session.
A typical day in Time for Twos includes the following:
- Free play and open learning opportunities
- Group time (e.g. story time, sing songs, felt stories, music and movement activities)
- Snack time
Preparing Your Child for Time for Twos
- Tell your child what will happen at Time for Twos
- Read stories to your child about going to a group time like Time for Twos.
- Practice opening and closing your child’s snack bag and snack containers with your child.
- Establish "getting ready" routines, such as letting your child help you pack bag or pick out clothing to wear.
- Give the teacher information to help make your child feel comfortable.
NOTE: The seasonal Time for Twos program operates from January to March 2025.
